Let's Get Started

To reduce the risk of injury user must read instruction manuals for all tools used in this project. Wear eye and respiratory protection. Use clamps to support work piece whenever practical.

STEP 1

Step 1

Start by taping beneath your caulk line to serve as a guide to run your tool along, not into your sink in order to prevent damage. Tip: An additional measure to prevent any damage to adjoining drywall, we recommend scoring along the tape line with a razor knife before using your Multi-Max to remove the caulk

STEP 2

Step 2

Insert MM610 Flexible Scraper Blade into your tool. If you're using the NEW Multi-Max MM30 tool, you'll notice how quick this process is thanks to the Quick System. Plug the tool in and set it at a low-speed. Insert the blade in between the wall and the caulk. You should be able to see the blade flex during the removal and (if the caulk is hardened), the breaking process. Work the line between the sink in the lower edge of the caulk, peeling away the remaining caulk. Tip: With the flexible scraper make sure that the screwhead does not make contact with the surface during the scraping process. This can be accomplished by making sure that tool is at an angle to the blade. A 30 to 40 degree pitch is recommended.

STEP 3

Step 3

Wipe the area with rubbing alcohol to remove any remaining residue & allow to dry completely. Remove the tape and your sink is ready to be re-caulked.

STEP 4

Step 4

Apply new caulk (you may choose to use a silicon-based caulk) along the edge of the sink. To ensure a watertight seal, wet your index finger and run it along the fresh caulk line while it is still setting.
