To reduce the risk of injury user must read instruction manuals for all tools used in this project. Wear eye and respiratory protection. Use clamps to support work piece whenever practical.
Measure and mark your cut lines on your 1x4s, making cuts every 27 5/8" with your Dremel Saw-Max equipped with a SM500 wheel. You will need 5 slats, total. You'll also use the same tool to cut 4 1x2s 18 1/2" long.
Line up your wood and check to make sure your cuts are correct. For those cuts that might be a little off, you can use the Dremel 3000 sanding attachment to sand them down to the right measurement. It's also perfect for smoothing out the rough edges of your 1x4 slats.
Stain all of your wood, using your preferred stain color. For this project I used MinWax® Dark Walnut. After a few minutes, use a towel to wipe off stain that did not soak into the wood.
Line your slats up along the 1x2s, using wood glue and clamps to secure them. Once your wood glue has dried, hammer your 1" nails in.
Glue, clamp, and hammer in your 1x2s on to the top and bottom of the slats.
Once you have decided where you would like to place your sheet metal, you will need to drill pilot holes in to your metal.
Screw your metal into the wood using 3/4" screws.
To frame your sheet metal, lay out your wood and find your correct measurements. I was able to cut two pieces of 1x2 at 10 3/4" and two pieces at 11 1/2". Once your wood pieces are stained, glue them down and nail them in to your wood slats.
Just like you made a pilot hole in your sheet metal, you will also need to use the same bit to create a larger hole in your hose clamp. A screw will not fit through the the holes of the hose clamp.
Drill a pilot hole in your wood where you would like to attach your mason jars.
Screw your collar into the wood using a 3/4" screw.
Place your mason jar inside the collar and tighten the hose clamp as tight as possible.
Align your last three mason jars where you would like them and repeat steps 9, 10, 11, and 12
